An error occurred while saving the comment AdminSalim Virani (Admin, Leancamp) commentedOne of my friends who runs an analytics company said, "People look to numbers for answers, but it's often the numbers that point to the best questions." Anyone else puzzled by what's happening in their startup and have a "why" question? What are they?
Conversion dropped. Why?
People aren't using this feature after 3 weeks. Why?
They didn't buy - but they said they would buy. Why?The funny thing I've seen with startups, is that we often don't go out and ask the important questions. (Why? :) )

Being worried about "losing a deal" with "important" contacts, and also flipping into sales-mode before learning that the problem has money and traction behind it, are both common excuses I've seen founders use to justify hesitation and slow down their progress. Looking forward to seeing how you handle this!

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminSalim Virani (Admin, Leancamp) commentedYeah Samantha, it's totally context-specific. You have a UX background right? I learned loads of good questioning techniques from UX people actually - would you join me to share questions and help with an Affinity Map at the end of the session?

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminSalim Virani (Admin, Leancamp) commentedIt would be great to see how people have connected different tools, when they're useful and when they stop being useful. (I'm sure we all have that experience of the X board on our wall with post-its that are gathering dust.)
I like the idea of many specialised tools, loosely coupled - which we've seen work well in the open source world. On that note, I could also share some new tools we've developed for accelerators. We try to make ours really light-weight, context-specific, and pluggable into other tools as-needed.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminSalim Virani (Admin, Leancamp) commentedWhile Lean Startup and the tools around it are great for avoid failure, I've found Effectuation is equally great for finding viable opportunities. Like with Lean Startup, I often find people get excited when they find out about Effectuation - a framework that echoes our experience, but gives us a clearer way to making use of it.
This clarity has helped build Leancamp and Founder Centric. What I like about Effectuation is it cuts through some of our false assumptions about entrepreneurship, like "you should focus on one goal," giving us evidence that it's okay to keep a few things in our sights.

An error occurred while saving the comment AdminSalim Virani (Admin, Leancamp) commentedInteresting. I'd love to see some examples to help illustrate.
Are you planning a presentation session, or open discussion, or combo?
An error occurred while saving the comment AdminSalim Virani (Admin, Leancamp) commentedSeems like this is a common problem that founders just accept as part of the process. I'd love to hear how different people have tackled this, success or failure!

Hi Matias,
There's a lot to cover here for just 30 minutes! I'd recommend you split these up into separate sessions, and ask the Leancampers what they need most. Ideally, you do 10-20 minutes of workshop, then have room for discussion and questions afterwards.
