The Skills Pie - a simple tool for assessing what skills you need in a hire or co-founder
At the Balanced Team conference in SF in fall 2011, Moses Hohman gave this great talk (http://www.slideshare.net/balancedteam/06-sat-moses-hohman-balanced-team-conference-talk). We have iterated his tool - I call it the skills pie - since. I would present the tool, followed by a (small) group discussion/exercise on how to grow your team / find collaborators.

Don't know who would claim prior art but Steve Blank also blogged about a similar pie-chart-based-method in relation to hiring - http://steveblank.com/2011/08/22/hiring-easy-as-pie/
Also, I have never been a particular fan of Myers-Briggs et al type tools (it's hard enough to find good people without asking them to take a psychometric test!) but I have heard of tools used for this purpose - http://www.eteamtool.com/eteamtool-features/ - which was developed at Manchester Business School
